The focus of our faith is not found in a written creed, but in a dynamic relationship with the Lord. We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.  The unity that we enjoy is a gift of God, rooted in our common commitment to Christ.  Here are some of our characteristic beliefs.

We hold the Bible to be the inspired Word of God.  We see in the New Testament the norm for churches of every generation.  We are part of a movement within the broader church seeking to restore New Testament faith and practice, that there might be unity among all Christians and that the world might know God though Christ.

We celebrate the Lord's Supper (communion) each Sunday as the central part of worship.  At the Table we remember Christ's death on our behalf, experience a close oneness with him, and recommit ourselves to him.  All Christians are invited to share at the Lord's Table, regardless of church affiliation.

We practice baptism as it was taught and performed in the New Testament - the immersion of a penitent believer in water as an act of obedience, commitment, and affirmation of faith.  Baptism unites us with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, which it portrays.  In the waters of baptism we pledge ourselves to Christ.

We preach Jesus Christ.  We seek to proclaim God's good news, not politics or personal prejudices.

We are congregational in our church government.  Looking to the Lord for guidance, we call our ministers, set our own budgets, hold title to our properties, and organize our ministry.  We are a free church under the Lordship of Christ.
