Emmanuel Christian Seminary is a graduate theological seminary near Johnson City, Tennessee. The school offers three degrees: the Master of Arts in Religion (M.A.R.), the Master of Divinity (M.Div.), and the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.). It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada to award masters and doctoral degrees. Our pastor serves on the board for Emmanuel.
I.D.E.S. stands for International Disaster Emergency Services. IDES provides benevolent assistance to areas affected by natural and man-made disasters. Working closely with local Christian Churches and Churches of Christ, IDES serves as a conduit to provide financial help where needed most.
Keith and Kathy are “career missionaries” in Africa. They served among the Turkana in Kenya from 1991-2002, then in 2003 moved to Nairobi to work with the CMF team in the city's slums. The team uses Community Health Evangelism, microfinance, and spiritual teaching to bring renewal to the slum communities. Keith is the Nairobi Urban Poor Outreach team leader.
The Oregon Christian Convention serves as a gathering and connecting place for Christians. While OCC maintains an active calendar, the highlight of the year is the annual Convention which dates back to 1852. Other sponsored events are also in place to promote leadership development, spiritual renewal, educational enrichment and fellowship activities. The grounds are also available for church and family retreats, weddings, and seminars.
OCEF Church Planters focuses on establishing new churches, strengthening weaker churches, and deepening the commitment of all churches. OCEF's vision over the next 25 years is to plant (or partner in planting) a church planting church in every emerging community within the state of Oregon.
Osaka Bible Seminary is the only Bible College in Japan sponsored by Christian Churches and Churches of Christ. Established in 1937 by Harold Cole, this undergraduate school has a faculty of three full-time and several part-time Japanese professors. Over 110 graduates have gone out from OBS, serving all over Japan--from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south. About 90% of the graduates are in active leadership ministry.
Operation Christmas Child is a global Christmas gift exchange project operated by Samaritan's Purse. Each November it opens thousands of locations, typically at churches or schools, to collect shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, personal items, and other gifts. These are then distributed as Christmas gifts to millions of children each year, along with a gospel presentation. Gift boxes are collected in North America, Europe, and Australia. Since 1993 over 70 million gift boxes have been distributed by Samaritan’s Purse in more than 130 countries.
Located in the middle of Washington State, Satus Indian Mission is only an afternoon’s drive from Seattle or Portland but is an entire world away from what most of us know. Jerry McNew has labored in this field for several years, developing ties with the people of the Yakama Indian Nation and spreading the news of Christ.
