First Worship Service (contemporary music) - Sundays, 8:30 am Sunday School for all ages - Sundays, 9:40 am Second Service (traditional music) - Sundays, 10:50 am Here is what you can expect when you visit one of our worship services: A central feature of our worship is the observance of the Lord's Supper (also called communion) each Sunday. The Lord's Table is an important time of remembrance, renewal and recommitment to Christ. Through the loaf and cup we also proclaim the Lord's death until he comes again. At the Table it's our custom to reaffirm our faith by sharing the words of the Good Confession: "I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and my Lord and Savior." All Christians are invited to participate at the Lord's Table, regardless of church affiliation. We give serious attention to the role of Scripture in our lives. Sermons are Biblically based and practical for contemporary Christian living. We pray for one another, our friends, and for God's help in accomplishing our mission as a church. Through the offering, we participate in the ongoing ministry of the church, both locally and abroad. During the first service children sit with their families. There's a special "children's sermon" (object lesson) time in the service designed especially for kids. During the second service, children through fifth grade are dismissed from worship following the Lords' Supper so that they can attend Junior Worship, with an age appropriate lesson just for them. We invite you to respond to God's call in your life during the Song of Decision, which generally takes place following the sermon. (To learn more about becoming a member, click here). Hand held radio devices are available for the hearing impaired. Our nursery is available during all worship services for children ages birth through three years of age. An evening service is usually held on Sundays at 6:00 pm. Exceptions include holidays (when we encourage families to be together) and "Sharpen the Axe" Sundays (board meetings). If you're not sure when an evening service will be held, please call the church office, (503) 743-2119. |
