May 31, 2020: Fruit of the Spirit part 2
Junior Church Lesson
Found in Galatians 5:22-23
Memory Verse:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23
Points to remember:
1. Jesus gave us pointers of how we should act
2. Apples can remind us of Love
3. Bananas can remind us of Joy
4. Peaches can remind us of Peace
5. Pineapples can remind us of Patience
6. Kiwis can remind us of Kindness
7. Grapes can remind us of Goodness
What to do:
Start with my video.
Read the Bible verses.
“This week we are continuing with our study of the Fruit of the Spirit. I reminded you of
the first three fruits or what we can call virtues (good actions and thoughts). Now we
have Patience. Many times I am sure you have heard some adult tell you to be patient
when you want something. It is really tough but it does seem like if we are patient,
things turn out better. To remind us of Patience, we can think of the Pineapple. Next is
Kindness. My kitty joined me in the video to demonstrate Kindness. We can be kind to
our brothers or sisters and others too. Kiwis can remind us to be kind. Lastly for this
week, we have Goodness, to be good and naughty. To remind us of Goodness, we are
using Grapes. (several ‘O’s like little grapes).”
Work on the memory verse.
Assignment:
Using the fruit listed above, with an adult’s help, cut them up in chunks and put them on
a kabob stick along with a large marshmallow which can represent Jesus who is pure
and sweet and wonderful. Remember the meaning of each fruit as you eat it.
