1. Getting Started:
What did you find most interesting about the sermon this week? The most helpful, eye-opening, or troubling?
If you could go back in time and do one thing to prepare for quarantine, what would it be?
What do you think Jesus and the disciples talked about during those 40 days? If you had been there, what would you have asked?
2. Into the Bible:
Read Psalm 16.
Peter quotes this psalm in his sermon. Imagine that the disciples had been praying this psalm in the upper room. Why might they have chosen this one?
How would they have applied verses 1-4 to their own situation?
How would verses 5-8 given them courage and instruction while they were waiting?
What encouragement would they find in verses 9-11? How does Peter use this passage in Acts 2:22-33?
3. Going Deeper
Have you ever had a Pentecost-type moment, when God put you in the right place at the right time to do something for his kingdom?
What would it look like for you as an individual to prepare for God to use you in your community?
What opportunities do you see for our congregation to make an impact on our community?
