Daily Prayer

This order of prayer is based on the format of our Sunday worship service. Following this will allow you to pray with the church throughout the week.
Look through the whole page before praying through the whole time so you know what to expect.
Call to Worship
I will exalt you, my God the King;
I will praise your name for ever and ever.
Every day I will praise you
and honor your name for ever and ever.

(Psalm 145:1-2)
Adoration
Read one or more psalms. Options include:
  • Reading the daily psalms (you can get the daily psalm readings from the bookmark in the foyer, or from the daily reading plan on the Bible tab of the the TCC App)

  • Reading psalms of your choice

  • Reading the rest of Psalm 145
Confession and Reconciliation
Confession of Faith
I confess that Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of the Living God.
He is my Lord and Savior.

The Commands of Jesus:
Jesus said, “Love the Lord Your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Pause for reflection. Confess to God any sins or brokenness you find.

Prayer of Confession
Dear Father,
I have sinned. I have not loved you with my whole heart, or my neighbors as myself. Please forgive me and change me to be more like you. Thank you for the ways you have already changed me.

Scripture of Comfort and Forgiveness
The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
He does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

(Psalm 103:9,10–12)
Prayers of the Church
Prayers for others and yourself are offered at this time. You can use the prayers of the church insert from the bulletin, as well as the weekly prayer list sent out by the church office.

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
For yours is the kingdom,
the power and the glory forever.
Amen.

Reading & Response
A scripture or devotional reading should be included here. You can follow a reading plan or devotional of your own choice, or you can follow the church reading plan, available in the church foyer, or on the Bible tab of the TCC App.

Take time in silence to reflect on your reading. Consider how it is calling you to respond. It may be calling you to think about something differently, commit to some kind of action, or simply to rest in the presence of God and the truth of what you have read.
Closing Prayer
Offer a closing prayer of your own, thanking God for this time together and asking for his help throughout the day; or you can recite the prayer below.

Lord God, Almighty and everlasting father,
You have brought me in safety to this new day.
Preserve me with your mighty power,
that I may not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity,
and in all I do direct me to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ my Lord.
Amen
