The Last Supper is not a stand-alone event--it's the moment when Jesus hands off his ministry of 'eating with sinners' to his disciples, and equips them to carry it on. Throughout the dinner, we find that Jesus is teaching his disciples exactly what it takes to continue the mission of Jesus Christ today.
